Make a My Ribbon Charm with PS Spun Ribbon ♡
I’ve been wanting to make a My Ribbon Charm by M-StyleLuxe for a while ♡
This time, I made one using our PS Spun Ribbon.
Have you ever heard of “spun yarn”?
What is spun yarn?
Spun yarn is made by twisting short fibers together to create a single strand of yarn.
Our PS Spun Ribbon is made using polyester spun yarn.
Long polyester fibers are cut into shorter lengths and then spun together. This creates a soft, slightly natural texture that is somewhat similar to cotton.
In contrast, many conventional polyester yarns are made from continuous long fibers known as filament yarn.
Filament yarn has a smooth surface and tends to create a sleek, glossy appearance.
So even when two ribbons are made from the same material, the way the yarn is made can create a completely different look and feel.
The soft, understated look of PS Spun Ribbon
PS Spun Ribbon is a double-faced satin ribbon made with polyester spun yarn.
It has just the right amount of thickness while maintaining a soft, understated appearance.
It has the elegant sheen of satin, but with a different character from satin ribbons made with conventional filament yarn.
When choosing a ribbon, it can be interesting to look not only at the color, but also at what kind of yarn the ribbon is made from.
Color combinations make it even more fun ♡
Another thing I love about PS Spun Ribbon is its unique color combinations.
Some combinations feel a little sporty, while others remind me of the colors of national flags.
Because the colors aren’t overly sweet, I think they could also work beautifully for a more masculine or unisex look.
It’s amazing how much the impression of a ribbon can change simply by choosing a different color combination.
